Telling Your Story

Description

Are you a senior interested in writing a memoir? Telling Your Story is a five-part series especially for those interested in preserving their stories. Jean Rae Baxter will guide a group of seniors on how to write about life experiences using the tools of fiction. Participants must commit to five weeks of 2-hours sessions to attend this hands-on writing workshop. There will be an additional 2-3 hours of homework per week.
Following the five workshop sessions, there will be two additional 2-hour sessions. An individual meeting will take place with each participant to polish their finished work. At a final Showcase, participants will have an opportunity to present an excerpt of their memoir to family and friends.

Introduction to Cricut® Workshop Series

Description

This five-part workshop series introduces seniors to designing and crafting using Cricut® machines, materials and Design Space® software. Each 2-hour session will focus a new skill and project. Participants will walk away with a new creation each week and the skills and training required to use the library’s Cricut® Maker Space for independent projects in the future.

Week 1: Paper Craft
Week 2: Iron-on Vinyl
Week 3: Cricut® Wood Craft
Week 4: Cricut® Mug Making
Week 5: Cricut® Cap Making
