Volunteering at the Library
Gananoque Public Library is looking for volunteer helpers. The Volunteer Program at Gananoque Public Library creates opportunities for individuals to voluntarily extend their services to support the library.
Volunteers supplement the work of paid staff by straightening materials on shelves, dusting, raking leaves, assisting with programs, presenting workshops, participating in the Older Adults Advisory Committee and volunteering for our shut-in service.
Availability of Volunteer Opportunities
When there is a need to welcome more volunteers we will advertise on Facebook, Twitter and our website for the volunteer opportunity and at that time will accept applications for the opportunity.
If you are 14 or older and willing to make a commitment of at least 3 months then you would be eligible to apply.
We ask volunteers to have a library card. We also require volunteers over the age of 18 to provide an up to date Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable sector). The cost of the CRC will be refunded by the library after three months of volunteering.
Assist Library staff with a variety of activities – library programs, Makerspace programs, outreach programs and TD summer reading programs. Duties will vary by program or event.
