Quiet planning is often happening behind the scenes here at the library. Sometimes those ideas result in new services. Sometimes the ideas lead to new programs and workshops. This year those ideas led to a new image and one we are excited to share with our community.
Our new image celebrates the journey of discovery, learning and growth. What better way to depict discovery than through a book? The book in our logo represents the wealth of information we have to share and the stories that shape who we are. The colors of the pages reflect our community, surrounded by water and nature. And the three birds? They reflect that learning and growth is a joint experience. We grow as we learn from each other, and learning helps us all take flight both individually and as a community.
Our new tag line, Discover. Learn. Grow, that’s our mantra. We have people coming to the library all the time to make use of our programs and services. We see so many people who feel unsure of their own ability when it comes to doing something new. Whether it be preparing a resume, finding a new job or home, using new technology, researching, growing seeds for the first time, learning to play a ukulele or crochet, or even to move from one level of reading to another.
As humans we often have a tendency to question our own abilities. It seems to happen whenever we meet someone ready to try something new. People often feel unsure… but curiosity is a powerful force. And hey, isn’t discovery what makes life exciting? Especially when you know there is someone there to help you. Here at the library you never need to take on learning alone. Our staff are always ready to help and, quite often, other patrons are happy to offer their support and assistance too.
Maybe that’s why we staff at the library love coming up with new ideas just as much as we love sharing new books. We want people to have what they need to learn something new every day, to gain new knowledge and skills and find passion with ideas of their own.
In all, this new image tells the story of who we are as a community here at the library. We are so happy to share experiences with you and hope you like our new look as much as we do.
